Department of Sociology : Morigaon College

Introduction

The department of sociology was established in 2018 in Morigaon College with a regular  degree course. subsequently in 2019 with the introduction of CBCS program, it offered the generic course to the students. Currently, the department is providing generic paper course on sociology for different honours course students. It also offers one certificate course on social demography. The department is dedicated to develop a socially sensitive educated member of society with its teaching learning process.

History

In the academic year 2018-19, Morigaon College wanted to offer sociology course to its student. Accordingly, with one faculty member, the department was established to provide the general B.A course to the students. Now, the department of sociology has completed three years. In its first academic year 2018-19, there were 18 students who studied their pass course on sociology paper. After that numbers of students had been enrolled in this department and pursued their studies in sociology subject
